Our History

True Destinations Boat Rentals in Cape Coral, Fl was built from a lifelong passion for the water. For both of us, boating isn’t something we discovered later in life—it’s been part of who we are for as long as we can remember.

Growing up in northern Minnesota, we spent countless summers on the lakes, where boating, fishing, tubing, watersports, and exploring the outdoors were simply part of everyday life. We both learned to operate boats at a very young age, developing a deep respect for the water and the responsibility that comes with it. What started as childhood adventures quickly became a lifelong passion that continues to shape both our personal lives and our business.

For more than 20 years, we’ve personally owned a wide variety of boats, including speed boats, fishing boats, pontoons, tritoons, and large cabin cruisers. Owning and operating many different types of boats has given us firsthand knowledge of what makes for a safe, comfortable, and memorable day on the water. Whether it’s cruising with family, spending the day fishing, exploring hidden coves, or simply enjoying a sunset from the water, boating has always brought us together.

Southwest Florida

Our love for Southwest Florida began about five years ago when we discovered the incredible boating lifestyle the area has to offer. We quickly fell in love with the beautiful waterways, Gulf access canals, barrier islands, abundant wildlife, and endless opportunities to explore by boat. Today, we proudly split our time between northern Minnesota and Southwest Florida, allowing us to share our passion for boating in two amazing destinations that each offer a unique experience on the water.

For more than 15 years, we’ve been involved in boat rentals and captained experiences, helping families, couples, and groups create unforgettable memories. Throughout those years, we’ve learned that the best boating experiences start with exceptional customer service, reliable equipment, and local knowledge you simply can’t find from a large national company.

Kurt brings extensive boating experience and has captained numerous tours over the years. Safety has always been one of his top priorities. Before every rental, he provides a thorough orientation to ensure guests feel comfortable operating the boat, understand the local rules of the water, and know what to expect based on the specific waterways they’ll be exploring. Whether someone is an experienced boater or renting for the very first time, his goal is to make sure every guest leaves the dock feeling confident, prepared, and excited for the day ahead.
